Pony Grazing - Update

posted 4 Feb 2014, 13:36 by David Taplin   [ updated 4 Feb 2014, 13:39 ]

Following on from the last post, conservation grazing at Palesgate meadow has been approved by the Town Council Environment committee. Thanks go out to  the Town council for taking on board this project. Special thanks go out to Monty Larkin of the Sussex Pony Grazing & Conservation Trust who gave a brief talk about grazing and answered a few questions from the councillors. The Trust  will be providing the Exmoor ponies and co-ordinating regular checks on them by local  "Lookerers" .

The council will be  submitting a grant application to the High Weald AONB Unit for funding and donating their staff's time in the installation of discrete stock fencing.

Deadlines are tight to submit  the application but  with a little luck we are hoping to see ponies on the meadow this summer.
